Code Genius invites young people to use coding and AI to design a livable Bangkok.

Code Genius, a subsidiary of LEARN Corporation, organized the Code Genius Junior Hackathon 2026 under the theme "Young Innovators for Better Bangkok: A Livable Bangkok with Brilliant Ideas from Young Innovators." The event provided a platform for young people to apply their knowledge of coding, AI, Scratch, and micro:bit to design innovations and solutions to real-world problems facing Bangkok. Key issues covered included air quality, stray animals, disaster preparedness, nighttime safety, transportation and traffic, and creating an inclusive city. This reflects a learning approach that empowers students to use technology to understand and solve real-world problems.

The event was held at LearnSatit Pattana School (LSP School), where participants learned through the Design Thinking process, from problem analysis and user understanding to concept development, prototyping, and presentation to a panel of experts from government, education, and technology sectors. Many ideas reflected the students' ability to connect technology with social problems and people's quality of life. One project that garnered attention was the concept from the Safer team, which presented a real-time flood warning application showing nearby safe zones and a rescue boat service designed to accommodate the general public, pet owners, and people with disabilities. This demonstrated an understanding of the problem and an innovative design that considered all aspects of user experience.

For judging the entries, the committee used the Design Thinking process, considering understanding of the problem, creativity of the solution, and the ability to develop a prototype that aligns with the given task. The event was honored by the participation of distinguished experts from the government, academia, and technology sectors as judges, providing feedback to encourage the students' ideas to be further developed into real-world applications in the future.
