For the first time, the country's summer grain production has surpassed 150 million tons, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday.
Although the area planted with summer grain remained stable at 26.53 million hectares, a slight decrease of 0.2% from the previous year, overall production still increased due to improved crop efficiency.
Of this amount, the area planted with wheat, the main summer crop, exceeds 23 million hectares, a decrease of 0.3% compared to the previous year.
While the average yield per cultivated area increased to 5,681.6 kilograms per hectare, or a 0.8% increase from the previous year, reflecting improved production efficiency despite a slight decrease in cultivated area.
