Trump declared "the ceasefire with Iran is over" after a renewed confrontation, ordering the targeting of 1,000 missiles, but leaving the door open for further negotiations.
July 11, 2569 (Reuters) — US President Donald Trump revealed that The United States and Iran have reached an agreement to continue negotiations despite a significant escalation of tensions this week. However, Trump has made it clear that the ceasefire agreement reached last month has ended.
Furthermore, last Friday, the United States intensified pressure by calling on Iran to cease attacks on cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz. This latest escalation in the area has caused oil prices to surge, making it a highly politically sensitive issue for Trump ahead of the US congressional elections in November.
Trump's statement came on a relatively calm day after a week of renewed fighting, sparked by attacks on three Qatari and Saudi Arabian commercial oil tankers. This led to the US shelling various Iranian areas, and Iran retaliated by attacking US military bases in the Gulf.

However, Iranian state television reported that Iranian authorities rejected Trump's claims, stating that Iran did not request the talks with the United States but only agreed to host an intermediary from Qatar.

Iran's semi-official news agency Tasnim reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Oman on Saturday to discuss measures to regulate and ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
