The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is offering investment in government bonds through Thai stock accounts for the first time, and will also be accepting subscriptions for "Savings Plus" bonds, starting at 1,000 baht, from August 3-5.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is collaborating with the government, commercial banks, securities firms, and other capital market entities to expand opportunities for the public to access government bond investments through Thai stock accounts for the first time under the "Savings Plus" project. This allows for an initial investment of just 1,000 baht via the Streaming application and will be open for subscription from August 3rd to 5th.

With an initial investment of just 1,000 baht, under a total allocation limit of 2,000 billion baht, the Small Lot First allocation principle will be used to increase opportunities for a wider range of investors to receive a fair and equitable allocation.
Offering higher returns than fixed deposits, with a fixed interest rate of 1.8% for the 3-year maturity and 2.8% for the 10-year maturity, the initial offering will be open for subscription from August 3–5, 2569. Simply having a Thai stock account allows you to subscribe through 24 participating securities companies and banks via digital channels, branches, and the Streaming application.

Mr. Atsadej Kongsiri, Director and Manager of the Stock Exchange of Thailand It was revealed that the Bond Connect Platform project is a collaboration between the public and private sectors to leverage the infrastructure of the Thai capital market to support government policy and expand opportunities for the public to access government bonds more easily.
This also lays the foundation for the future development of debt securities services through the capital market, marking another important step in driving our vision of being "The Trusted Gateway to Inclusive Opportunities," a trusted pathway to opportunities for all.
“This offering of ‘Savings Plus’ government bonds through Bond Connect, under a limit of 2,000 billion baht, leverages the capital market infrastructure to provide tangible benefits to investors. Investors can start investing with as little as 1,000 baht, using a Small Lot First allocation principle to increase opportunities for a wider range of investors to receive allocations. Once allocated, the bonds will be held in scripless format through a securities trading account, which facilitates portfolio management.”
Investing in conjunction with other assets has become more convenient, and trading in the secondary market through the Stock Exchange of Thailand is supported, with transparent and verifiable market prices as a reference. Furthermore, investors can view an overview of their "Savings Plus Bonds" holdings along with other assets through the Wiset application. In the future, the bonds can also be used as collateral to increase flexibility in investment management, reflecting an enhanced overall investment experience for investors. Mr. Atsadet said
The "Savings Plus" government bonds will be available for subscription from 8:30 AM on August 3, 2026, until 3:00 PM on August 5, 2026. There are two models available: a fixed-interest model with a 3-year maturity at 1.8% and a 10-year maturity at 2.8% per year. These offer higher returns than fixed deposits and benchmark rates.
Investors can subscribe through their securities accounts with 24 participating distributors via both digital and branch channels (6 commercial banks and 18 securities companies), as well as the Streaming application. Allocation will take place on August 6, 2569.
