In today's business world, true success is not measured solely by financial profits, but by creating value for consumers while simultaneously nurturing the sustainable growth of society and the environment. Therefore, the advancement of the food industry today is not about moving forward in isolation, but about creating a responsible ecosystem for all stakeholders, from farm workers and partner farmers to surrounding communities, and ensuring food security so that Thais have access to high-quality protein at affordable prices.

Based on the belief that... "For a business to grow meaningfully, it must create positive results for the community." Covering everything from delivering good health to consumers and bringing smiles to communities, to being a reliable partner to farmers and passing on a sustainable world to future generations, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) has been driving its egg business forward through its '5 Goods' strategy. This strategy is key to elevating food safety standards coupled with comprehensive social responsibility.

Somkid Wannalukki, Chief Executive Officer, Egg Business, CPF. It was revealed that, “The core of CPF's egg business is to deliver accessible, high-quality protein to Thai people. At the same time, we believe that sustainable business growth is only possible when society and the environment grow alongside us. Therefore, we have developed our communication and operational strategies under the '5 Goods' concept to reflect that behind every egg lies more than just nutritional value; it's the good intentions we offer in every aspect.”

CPF's "5 Goods" strategy for its egg business consists of:

Good Food: We produce high-quality chicken eggs for Thai people using hens raised in a closed system and fed probiotics, resulting in healthy chickens. This ensures consumers can be confident that the eggs they consume are safe, free from residues and Salmonella. Furthermore, we offer special types of eggs from hens fed superfoods, such as Benja eggs, which have higher omega-3 content than regular eggs.

Good Farm: Upgrade to a Smart Farm with automated control technology, managing temperature, feed, water, and the environment to ensure the hens' comfort, reduce disease risk, increase efficiency, minimize losses, and save energy, all while adhering to international production standards.

Good People: We prioritize human resource development, creating experts in farm operations, egg sorting, and renewable energy systems from biogas. We care for our employees with good welfare and quality of life, place a top priority on safety, and encourage employee creativity through continuous work improvement projects.

Good Community: The true success of a business is not measured by sales figures, but by the smiles and improved well-being of the surrounding community. Therefore, we are not just an isolated factory or farm, but we strive to be a "true neighbor," starting with supporting the people in the area around our farm to grow together. This is achieved by sharing resources such as fertilizer from our biogas system to help reduce costs and improve agricultural productivity for nearby communities.

At the same time, the initiative extends its goodwill to create access to quality food nationwide. Over the past 30 years, the "Egg Laying Chicken Project for School Lunches" in more than 1,000 schools across the country has proven that just one egg, given with genuine intention, can change the future and promote better health for Thai youth in remote areas.

Good Planet: Transforming chicken manure into clean energy through a biogas system enables smart farms to rely on self-generated electricity for an average of up to 90% of their needs. A zero-waste management system converts all chicken manure and wastewater into energy and organic fertilizer. This significant step not only helps reduce environmental impact sustainably but also confirms that every egg produced by CPF is made with a truly environmentally conscious approach.

“Our intention is to leverage technology in management to deliver high-quality eggs while simultaneously taking better care of the environment. This is not only a business adaptation but also a key factor in maintaining food security for all Thais.” Somkid said.

Ultimately, CPF's egg business aims to communicate to society its transparency and genuine commitment to doing business not just for profit, but to a dedication to delivering "the best quality eggs for consumers and the most sustainable for the world," reinforcing the organization's image as a responsible growth partner to the Thai people.
