Cryoviva participated in the discussion on stage. The Medical Hub Executive Program 2026 reflects the private sector's in-depth perspective on advanced medical product (ATMPs) approaches and standards, aiming to propel Thailand to an international level.

Cryoviva (Thailand) Co., Ltd. As an innovator and the only stem cell banking provider in Thailand with full AABB certification in all three areas, Ms. Jiranya Prachaseree has contributed to driving the country's medical industry. She was honored to be one of the private sector speakers in a panel discussion on the topic of "In-depth Look at the Laws Supporting ATMPs (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products)" at the Medical Hub Executive Program 2026 (MEP3) training course at The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok. The event was attended by numerous executives and experts from both the public and private sectors.

This seminar serves as an important platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives between the public and private sectors, fostering input and suggestions for developing national public health and economic policies that align with international standards. The focus is on advanced medical products (ATMPs), encompassing cell therapy and gene therapy, which are emerging as a “new growth engine” for the global healthcare industry.

Currently, the ATMPs market is valued at approximately US$25.5 billion and is expected to expand to US$61.5 billion by 2030. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.4% is projected between 2023 and 2030.  [1] As a result, many countries are accelerating the review and development of laws, regulations, and investment promotion measures to create an environment conducive to investment in biotechnology and advanced medical companies.

For Thailand, developing clear, up-to-date laws and regulations that align with international standards not only increases opportunities for Thai citizens to access safe and effective advanced medical technologies, but also serves as a crucial mechanism for building confidence among foreign investors, attracting investment, research, and development in medical technology, thereby enhancing Thailand's competitiveness and propelling it towards becoming a sustainable medical hub in the region.

Ms. Chiranya Prachaseree, Chief Executive Officer, Southeast Asia Region, Cryoviva (Thailand) Co., Ltd. From the private sector's perspective, opinions and experiences were shared, stating that businesses and entrepreneurs currently have options for conducting research on advanced medical products (ATMPs) in many countries.

Therefore, research and operational standards are crucial, encompassing criteria for cell procurement, donor selection, raw material selection for ATMP production, screening processes, infection testing, and most importantly, traceability to determine the origin of the raw materials, as these materials will be used on a large scale and on numerous individuals.

Furthermore, Ms. Jiranya suggested that, in terms of controlling and accessing raw materials (sourcing), the private and public sectors should work and cooperate closely. This shouldn't just be about establishing sourcing guidelines, but also about jointly overseeing and controlling the entire sourcing system to ensure it's correct and safe. This will drive the efficient development of Thailand's ATMPs industry and align with the direction of government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which is currently accelerating the development of guidelines.

The event also featured an interesting special lecture on the topic "FROM LAB TO LIFE: Sciences for Healthy Longevity," by... Dr. Supakit Sirilak, Director-General of the Department of Medical Sciences. This content aligns with the approach of applying advances in stem cell science and innovation to improve the quality of life and promote longevity among the Thai population.

Furthermore, MEP3 serves as a central hub for building partnerships through MEP Community Announcement activities to collaboratively drive the Thai public health system forward in the future.
