Japanese stock market
The Nikkei index plunged more than 4% due to heavy selling in technology and semiconductor stocks, amid concerns over a global slowdown in chip stocks and tensions in the Middle East impacting investment sentiment.
- The Nikkei index closed at 64,141.12 points, down 2,694.42 points or -4.03%.
Chinese stock market
The Shanghai Composite Index closed down more than 3%, driven by selling pressure on large-cap and technology stocks as investors sought to avoid geopolitical risks and a global chip market correction.
- The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,764.15 points, down 118.26 points or -3.05%.
Hong Kong Stock Market
The Hang Seng Index fell in line with other Asian markets, as major technology stocks such as Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, and Meituan were pressured by selling pressure as investors reduced their exposure to technology stocks.

South Korean stock market
