SCB Asset Management has launched the SCBSPACE and SCBUSDSPACE funds, investing in the aerospace industry – a megatrend playing a crucial role as a key infrastructure component of the global economy with significant long-term growth potential. The initial public offering (IPO) of these funds will take place simultaneously from July 20th to 30th.

Mr. Narongsak Plodmeechai, Chief Executive Officer SCB Asset Management (SCBAM) It is said that during each investment period, megatrends often emerge that transform the global economic structure and create growth opportunities for modern businesses. While AI has been a key driver of the digital economy in the past, the Space Economy is now emerging as another theme attracting increasing attention from investors worldwide. This is because the space industry is not limited to exploring beyond Earth's atmosphere but is becoming a crucial infrastructure supporting economic activities, information and communication, navigation and data analysis systems, integration with current technologies, and international efficiency, safety, and security.

The factors driving the space economy into a new phase of growth are the convergence of several elements: technological advancements that reduce the cost of space access, increased investment from both the public and private sectors, and the continuously expanding number of space-related companies. This has resulted in a stronger industry ecosystem and opened up opportunities for new businesses in a variety of dimensions.

Currently, the space industry encompasses everything from rocket and propulsion system development and satellite manufacturing to satellite communications systems, Earth observation technology, space imaging, GPS systems, and commercial space exploration and transportation. This reflects that the industry's growth is not driven by a few companies, but is expanding throughout the entire industry chain and is likely to benefit from the increasing global use of satellites and space services in the long term.

Mr. Narongsak said that to further develop these investment opportunities, SCBAM launched...SCB Space Innovation Fund (SCBSPACE) and SCB Space Innovation USD Fund (SCBUSDSPACE) This fund's investment policy is based on the VanEck Space Innovators UCITS ETF, a core fund that aims to invest in global companies with more than 50% of its revenue from the space industry (Pure-Play), tracking the MarketVector Global Space Industry Screened Index. It offers investment opportunities in companies of all sizes, from innovative companies in the early stages of growth to large, industry-leading corporations, reflecting the potential of the space economy at all stages of growth.

Both funds cover investment themes throughout the entire space industry value chain, including rockets and propulsion systems, satellite equipment and communication solutions, other satellite equipment, and space exploration. The underlying fund has received a 5-star Morningstar Rating (as of June 2026) in the Morningstar Category: EAA Fund Sector Equity Industrial Materials.

For investors who wish to invest in Thai Baht, SCBSPACE is an option with a minimum investment of 1,000 Baht. Those who wish to invest and receive returns in US Dollars can choose SCBUSDSPACE with a minimum investment of 30 US Dollars. Both funds can be opened via the e-FCD service on the SCB EASY application or at any SCB branch to accommodate US Dollar investments. Both funds will have their initial public offering (IPO) simultaneously between July 20 and 30.
