CP ALL anticipates growth in Laos' tourism by establishing 7-Eleven stores at Laos-China railway stations.

CP All Laos Company Limited is expanding its "5-Eleven" convenience store network in Laos, benefiting from the influx of Chinese and Thai tourists. Laos reported 2.1 million tourists in the first five months of the year. The company is opening branches at the Laos-China railway station in Vientiane, connecting transportation networks in the land-linked era. The company points to geopolitical crises as a driving force behind Laos' rise as a new destination for regional investment and tourists.
30 July 2569 – Lao News Agency Figures reveal that between January and May 2569, over 2.1 million foreign tourists visited Laos, representing an 8% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This accounts for 47% of the total target of 4.46 million tourists for the entire year.
The strong recovery of the tourism sector has prompted the Lao government to intensify its efforts to upgrade tourism service standards and tourist protection. This has become a significant business opportunity for CP ALL Laos Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CP ALL Public Company Limited, to accelerate the development of strategies to connect convenient services to cater to international travelers.
Setting the stage for Vientiane, the capital city, as part of the Laos-China rail network expansion.
CP All Laos continues its expansion, and most recently, in early July, opened a new 7-Eleven store inside the Laos-China Railway Station in Vientiane, the main railway station in Laos.
The expansion into train stations focuses on providing seamless connectivity and convenience along major transportation routes, following the opening of its first rail-based branch at Luang Prabang Railway Station last year.
CP ALL indicates its expansion trajectory is on track, highlighting geopolitical crises as opportunities.
Mr. Chairoj Tiwatmancharoen, Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director, International Business, CP ALL Public Company Limited. It was revealed that since the opening of the first 7-Eleven store in Laos in February 2023, the business's growth trajectory has been satisfactory and has expanded according to target.
Despite challenges from external factors and economic conditions, flexible management guided by values of benefiting the country, its people, and the organization, has allowed the business to continue receiving positive responses.
“Although this year has seen geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East impacting the economy, particularly energy costs since the beginning of the year, another perspective is that it is a positive factor for Laos, which will become a new destination for tourists in the region with high purchasing power, especially Thai tourists, due to convenient travel options connecting by land, sea, and air.” Chairoj Thiwatmancharoen
Mr. Chairoj added that this overall picture aligns with the Lao government's economic development policy, which focuses on investing in infrastructure to transform the landlocked country into a land-linked hub. Seven Eleven is ready to support and benefit from these positive factors.
