August 2, 2569. A news report from the Revenue Department reveals that, following the Ministry of Finance's proposal to the Cabinet to extend the reduced Value Added Tax (VAT) rate to 7% until September 30, 2570, which the Cabinet approved on July 27, 2569, the Revenue Department wishes to inform the public that the VAT for the sale of goods and services will remain at the 7% rate.
However, essential goods and services, such as food ingredients (rice, meat, fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, fresh eggs, etc.) and road transportation, will remain exempt from value-added tax. This will help alleviate the financial burden on the public under the current economic circumstances.
For small businesses selling any type of goods or services, if their annual revenue does not exceed 1,800,000 baht, they will also be exempt from value added tax.
