The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) collaborates with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) to accelerate human resource development and upgrade Thailand's carbon market.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) have signed an academic cooperation agreement to develop experts and increase the number of greenhouse gas validators. This aims to support the expansion of greenhouse gas emission reduction mechanisms and the carbon market, and to connect data through the SET Carbon platform to propel Thai businesses towards sustainable finance and a low-carbon economy in the long term.
On August 3, 2569, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation to enhance preparedness for climate change. This will be achieved through capacity building of experts and increasing the number of greenhouse gas verifiers, promoting greenhouse gas reduction mechanisms and a carbon market, and linking data to the SET Carbon platform. This will support the transition of Thai businesses to a low-carbon economy and sustainable finance, thereby increasing the country's long-term competitiveness.
Mr. Assadej Kongsiri, Director and President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), stated that the SET has developed the SET Carbon Platform, which will receive certification from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) in 2568. This platform will allow listed companies to calculate and disclose greenhouse gas emissions data in accordance with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. The data must be verified by experts certified by TGO. This collaboration therefore aims to develop the capabilities of experts and increase the number of verifyers.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will leverage its experience in maintaining examination standards through the SET Exam platform and examination centers to support efficient examination administration. This will be coupled with promoting learning and connecting information related to the carbon market ecosystem to enhance the reliability of greenhouse gas data, build confidence among investors and stakeholders, and reinforce its vision of "The Trusted Gateway to Inclusive Opportunities."
Mr. Nakorn Trakwiraphat, Director of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) , stated that as the main agency playing a role in promoting greenhouse gas reduction efforts in Thailand, GGM plays a crucial role in capacity building for both government and private sector organizations through the Climate Action Academy (CAA), which GGM established.
This is a crucial mission, and cooperation from the Stock Exchange of Thailand will help unlock limitations and meet the demand for personnel, such as auditors in the carbon market ecosystem, ensuring transparency and acceptable standards. This will enhance credibility and effectively support the growth of greenhouse gas reduction mechanisms and the domestic carbon market.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) has a duration of 3 years. Its aim is to develop quality human resources, promote mechanisms for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and drive economic, social, and environmental development, leading Thailand towards a sustainable Net Zero goal.
