Seven brokerage firms predict the S&P 500 index will reach 7,100-8,100 points, driven by AI-driven profit growth.

Leading brokers remain positive about the US stock market, forecasting the S&P 500 index to be in the range of 7,100-8,100 points by the end of 2569, driven by corporate earnings growth and investment in AI.
On August 11, 2026, at 3:36 PM, Reuters reported that leading brokers and financial institutions remain positive about the U.S. stock market in 2026. They expect the S&P 500 index to continue its upward trend, driven by investment in artificial intelligence (AI) and strong corporate earnings, despite the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran creating uncertainty in global financial markets, as well as increasing risks of inflation and energy supply disruptions.
Strategists from major investment banks estimate that AI-driven corporate profit growth is likely to offset the short-term economic impact of the situation in the Middle East. Most recently, JP Morgan became the latest institution to raise its S&P 500 target to 8,000 points, following several other institutions that have expressed positive views on the U.S. stock market.
Considering the targets from various research firms, most project the S&P 500 to reach approximately 7,500–8,100 points by the end of 2569. BofA Global Research sets the lowest target at 7,100 points, while UBS Global Research, Jefferies, Canaccord Genuity , and BNP Paribas target 7,500 points. HSBC sees 7,650 points, Evercore ISI at 7,750 points, and Barclays and Seaport Research Partners at 7,800 points.
RBC Capital Markets and UBS Global Wealth Management set a target for the S&P 500 at 7,900 points, while Wells Fargo projects it at 7,950 points. Sector firms expecting the index to reach 8,000 points include JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Societe Generale, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley. Wells Fargo Investment Institute estimates a range of 7,800–8,000 points.
The most positive outlook comes from Citigroup and Oppenheimer Asset Management, who target the S&P 500 at 8,100 points. This reflects the belief among major financial institutions that the momentum from AI and corporate earnings growth will be key factors supporting the U.S. stock market, amidst geopolitical and inflation risks that still need to be closely monitored.
