Krungthai Panich Insurance, in collaboration with Krungthai Bank, launches GEN U INTER insurance for students studying abroad. The policy offers coverage for accident and illness medical expenses up to 5 million baht, along with travel, property, and tuition fee coverage. Coverage periods range from 3 to 25 months, with premiums starting at 6,000 baht.

Krungthai Panich Insurance Public Company Limited (KPI) announced the launch of the GEN U INTER insurance plan for students studying abroad. This plan addresses risks related to medical expenses, accidents, travel, property, and the financial burden on families. It provides coverage for medical expenses from illness and accidents abroad up to 5 million baht, and coverage up to 500,000 baht for continued treatment upon return to Thailand. The plan also includes 24-hour emergency assistance and medical patient transfer services.

In addition to medical expenses, GEN U INTER also covers risks that may occur during travel and life abroad, such as lost or delayed luggage, trip cancellation or postponement, and theft of property within overseas accommodations, subject to the terms and conditions specified in the policy. It also provides tuition compensation up to 500,000 baht in the event that an incident exceeding the policy's terms and conditions prevents the insured from continuing their studies.

In cases where a student requires inpatient hospitalization (IPD) for more than 5 consecutive days, the plan also covers travel and accommodation expenses for accompanying guardians, up to 5,000 baht per day. It also provides coverage in case of unforeseen events affecting guardians in Thailand, up to 100,000 baht. Coverage periods range from 3 to 25 months, accommodating both short-term courses and longer-term studies. Primary coverage amounts range from 3 to 5 million baht, with premiums starting at approximately 6,000 baht, depending on the plan, coverage period, and terms and conditions.

The launch of this product reflects the trend in the travel insurance market, which is expanding coverage from risks during travel to support long-term living abroad, especially medical expenses, which can be a significant financial burden for students and their families.

Before purchasing insurance, you should check the details of the coverage limits, exclusions, countries or regions covered by the policy, waiting period, as well as the terms and conditions for medical treatment and claims, as coverage and premiums may vary depending on the plan.
