Bangkok Life Assurance reported a net profit of 3,603 million baht in the first half of 2569.

Bangkok Life Assurance reported total premium income of 18,064 million baht in the first half of 2569, a 10% increase, while net profit reached 3,603 million baht, a 6% growth. This was driven by its insurance and investment businesses. The company's capital ratio remained strong at 391%, exceeding the legal requirement of 140%.
Mr. Chon Sophonpanich, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bangkok Life Assurance Public Company Limited BLA (Bio-Insurance Public Company Limited) revealed its operating results for the first six months of 2026, stating that the company had total premium income of 18,064 million baht, an increase of 10 percent from the same period of the previous year.
This is broken down into first-year premium income of 3,869 million baht, an increase of 6 percent from the same period of the previous year, driven by a 26 percent increase in the bank channel. However, the agency channel decreased by 9 percent, and other channels decreased by 52 percent.
The first-year premium income, broken down by distribution channel, was 71% through the bank channel, 23% through the agent channel, and 6% through other channels. Renewal premium income totaled 14,195 million baht, an 11% increase compared to the same period last year, which is in line with the company's forecast.
The company reported a net profit of 3,603 million baht, or 2.11 baht per share, an increase of 197 million baht or 6 percent compared to the same period last year. This increase was driven by a 375 million baht increase in insurance performance and a 382 million baht increase in investment performance.
For investment performance during the first six months of 2026, the company generated investment income of 6,439 million baht, an increase of 4% from the same period of the previous year. This increase was driven by dividend income and gains from fair value adjustments of equity instruments. The company's return on investment (ROI) was 4.47%, up from 4.28% in the same period of the previous year. The investment yield was 3.73%, up from 3.64% in the same period of the previous year.
Mr. Chon stated that, for the second quarter of 2026, the company had total first-year premium income of 1,356 million baht, a decrease of 12 percent, and renewal premium income of 6,035 million baht, an increase of 8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Total assets as of June 30, 2026, amounted to 309,950 million baht, a decrease of 2 percent or 6,023 million baht from December 31, 2025, due to a decrease in the measurement of financial assets.
Financial assets and cash equivalents accounted for 98 percent of total assets and represented a debt-to-insurance liability ratio of 121 percent. The company's capital adequacy ratio at the end of Q2 2569 was 391 percent, an increase from 377 percent at the end of 2568, which is higher than the legally required 140 percent.
