The central bank establishes SME Portal, a central marketplace for SME loans.

The Bank of Thailand is hosting the launch of a "central marketplace" to match banks willing to lend with SMEs seeking loans under the "SME Portal" project. Expected to be operational by the end of this year, the initiative aims to accelerate SME access to credit, integrating relaxed monetary policy with structural solutions to address uncertainty.
The SME Portal will offer opportunities for both new loan applications, helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) access funding for business improvements or increased production efficiency, and refinancing. This will address the needs of SMEs that have collateral with their existing bank but are unable to secure additional loans and need to switch to a new bank for higher credit limits or improved liquidity. The service is expected to launch by the end of this year, with clearer results and usage figures anticipated next year.
