The Comptroller General's Department reveals that budget disbursement for fiscal year 69 has exceeded 89%, urging agencies to accelerate disbursements in the final quarter of 69.

The Comptroller General's Department revealed that budget disbursement for fiscal year 2569 has exceeded 89.64%. They emphasized the need for government agencies to accelerate budget disbursement in the final quarter of September, along with handling carry-over budgets to prevent budget cancellations. This will pave the way for procurement in 2570 and inject funds into the economy.

On September 1, 2569, Ms. Patricia Mongkolvanich, Director-General of the Comptroller General's Department, revealed that the disbursement of the 2569 fiscal year budget from the beginning of the fiscal year until August 31, 2569, totaled 3,388,941 million baht, representing 89.64 percent of the total budget of 3,780,600 million baht. Broken down, current expenditures have been disbursed at 2,871,066 million baht, or 96.41 percent of the 2,977,911 million baht allocated for current expenditures, and capital expenditures have been disbursed at 517,875 million baht, or 64.52 percent of the 802,689 million baht allocated for capital expenditures.

Of the funds carried over to the 2025 fiscal year, 258,493 million baht has already been disbursed, representing 80.61 percent of the total carried-over amount of 320,689 million baht. Furthermore, there is only one month remaining for incurring obligations and disbursing funds for the 2026 fiscal year budget.

Therefore, in order to meet the Cabinet's targets of 100% spending, 93% overall disbursement, 98% recurring expenditure, and 75% capital expenditure, the Comptroller General's Department requests government agencies to expedite the procurement of ongoing projects, accelerate the acceptance of work delivered by contractors, and complete disbursements by September 30, 2569. Furthermore, agencies are urged to accelerate the disbursement of funds carried over from the 2568 fiscal year to prevent these funds from being forfeited.

For surplus funds from completed projects, if an agency needs to use these funds for projects/items that were not allocated sufficient funding, they can be reallocated to other necessary projects/items to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency in budget spending.

For the fiscal year 2570 budget, in order to expedite the commitment and disbursement of budget funds in fiscal year 2570, government agencies can prepare for procurement from the stage of preparing the annual procurement plan and selecting contractors in advance. Once the fiscal year 2570 budget act comes into effect and the agency receives budget allocation from the Budget Bureau, they can then sign the contracts.
