On September 5, 2569, Mr. Wethang Puangsap, Secretary-General of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission, revealed the progress of the project to upgrade digital and artificial intelligence skills for Thais, or TH-AI Passport. As of September 3, 2569, 1.47 million people had registered , and more than 4 million commands (prompts) had been entered.
Of that number, 722,030 have completed at least one lesson, and 113,758 have successfully completed the course and received a certificate.
For billing under the new contract, a Pay per Active User model will be used, meaning you pay based on the actual number of users. “Active users” are defined as those with innovative content who use the platform at least once a month, and will be charged at a rate of 24.6951 THB per person per month.
To be counted as a genuine user according to these criteria, users must access the Generative AI platform, enroll in classes, and accumulate points each month according to the specified guidelines.
The TH-AI Passport project aims to reach the general public and those new to AI, enabling them to “access, understand, and use” it through hands-on experience coupled with learning.
Mr. Wethang stated that prior to the official launch on August 31, 2569, a public relations document about the project was prepared on August 18, 2569, and distributed to various government agencies to raise widespread awareness.
Meanwhile, the office has instructed the contractor to expedite the creation of a dashboard displaying the movement of the number of registrants and the number of trainees who have completed the training, starting from August 31, 2569, and to monitor the progress of the work thereafter.
Mr. Wethang stated that the project aims to build AI skills among the general public through various AI lessons and experiments, in order to reduce the technological divide and prepare the country's workforce to adapt to technological change.
