Apple ushers in a new era, launching the iPhone Duo to challenge the foldable screen throne.

Apple unveiled a major new product lineup for the year, led by the "iPhone Duo," its first foldable iPhone, along with an upgraded "iPhone 18 Pro" and the 2nm A20 Pro chip.
September 10, 2569 - Apple shook the tech industry once again with the launch of its flagship smartphone lineup, revolutionizing the user experience. Leading the pack is the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable smartphone, alongside the powerful, creative-oriented iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The star of the show: iPhone Duo, redefining the foldable smartphone.

John Ternus, Apple's CEO, stated that the iPhone Duo is the most significant change to the iPhone since the first model was released, highlighting its ultra-thin design, durability, and seamless integration of hardware and software.
When folded closed, it can be conveniently used with one hand thanks to its 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR outer display, which provides 90% of the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro. It's portable and not bulky.

When unfolded, it transforms into a large 7.6-inch inner display (50% larger than the Pro Max model) with a Nano-texture glass surface that reduces reflections and significantly minimizes screen creases. This creates seamless visual continuity as both inner screens share the same aspect ratio, ensuring content scales perfectly. Both support ProMotion, Always-On, and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, with the FaceTime camera hidden beneath the inner display.

The iPhone Duo will support Apple Pencil (USB-C) for note-taking and sketching on both screens later this year.
In terms of durability, a concern for many with foldable smartphones, Apple showcased a hinge made from polished, mirror-finish grade 5 titanium. The hinge cover is 3D-printed and utilizes over 100 mechanical parts for smooth yet robust operation. It's protected by Ceramic Shield 2 on the front (three times more scratch-resistant) and Ceramic Shield on the back, along with an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The inner folding panel is reinforced with titanium and a special polymer that is 40% stronger than typical industry materials.

As for the camera experience unique to the foldable display, Apple claims it will be similar to what you've experienced with other iPhone models. The iPhone Duo features a 48MP Fusion main camera and a 48MP Ultra Wide camera, but what makes this model special are the features derived from the foldable design, including:
- Smart Take: The AI on the A20 Pro chip automatically detects and triggers the shutter when everyone in the frame has finished posing.
- Duo Preview & Rear-camera Selfie: Use the external monitor to preview the image, allowing the subject to adjust their pose, or use the high-resolution rear camera to take selfies.
- Kid Cue: Play cute Peanuts animations on the outdoor screen to attract children's attention and get them to look at the camera.
- Duo FaceTime: Allow people around you to see and make video calls through the external screen without having to crowd together in one screen.

Another interesting feature is iOS 27 and Siri AI, specifically optimized for foldable screens. It supports Split View, allowing you to open two apps side-by-side or two windows of the same app (like Safari). Furthermore, the control buttons, Lock Screen, and Dynamic Island have been moved to the side to free up vertical display space. A new StandBy mode allows you to place the device down and use it as a clock or widget hub instantly without needing to plug it in. This is powered by Siri AI (beta version), which understands personal and screen context, enabling it to naturally assist, summarize information, or draft messages.
Specifications and battery.

The iPhone Duo's chipset is powered by the A20 Pro chip, a 2nm architecture, directly connected to the vapor chamber for heat dissipation. It features a dual-battery architecture, allowing up to 44 hours of video playback on the outer display and up to 31 hours on the inner display, with fast charging to 50% in 20 minutes.
The iPhone Duo features an eSIM-only design worldwide, lacking a physical SIM card tray (similar to the iPhone Air). It supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 via the Apple N1 chip and the new C2 modem.

The device comes in two classic colors: Star White and Night Sky. Pre-orders begin Friday, October 16th, and it will be officially released on Friday, October 23rd, starting at $1,999, or approximately 69,900 – 79,900 baht.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max maintain their cool, classic look.

For production professionals, creators, and users who demand the ultimate in traditional, high-performance gaming, Apple has upgraded its Pro lineup, this time featuring professional-grade camera hardware.
The first variable aperture camera on an iPhone.

It features a 48MP Fusion Main Camera with a 6-blade laser-cut aperture mechanism that can adjust the aperture according to lighting conditions and depth of field, resulting in sharp group photos with everyone in focus and natural-looking background blur.
Additionally, there's Pro Controls, a manual camera setting mode that allows you to adjust aperture (4 selectable levels), shutter speed, and white balance, along with a real-time histogram.
Another interesting feature is Apple Reference Image, a photo verification system. The sensor encodes and verifies every pixel to create an unforgeable "digital negative" via private cloud computing. It supports the SynthID standard for verifying AI-enhanced images, making it ideal for professional journalists and photographers.
In terms of processing power, it utilizes the top-tier A20 Pro chipset and a new cooling system. The 2nm chipset's 6-core CPU is claimed to be 20% faster, and the 7-core GPU is claimed to be 40% faster.

In addition, it features a Dual 16-core Neural Engine (32 cores total) that processes AI and Machine Learning models up to twice as fast.
The new generation vapor chamber heat sink, which is three times larger, helps maintain maximum performance (sustained performance) for up to 40% longer.
The longest-lasting battery ever.

Another interesting feature is the fast charging system. A 5-minute charge on the 18 Pro Max provides approximately 7 hours of video playback. The Dynamic Island, while smaller, offers increased storage capacity and can display up to three live activities simultaneously.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro are available in four colors: Black, Silver, Glacier, and the new Burgundy. Pre-orders begin Saturday, September 12th, and they will be officially released on Friday, September 18th. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 or 52,900 baht, while the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 or 48,900 baht.
