The Ministry of Finance will discuss extending the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" program this week, with a possibility of it being used until the end of 69.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance revealed that the committee reviewing the 4 billion baht loan is preparing to discuss extending the "Thailand Helps Thailand Plus 60/40" program this week, following the prolonged energy crisis. This may involve utilizing funds from the energy transition budget. There is a possibility of extending the program until the end of 69.
On September 14, 2569, Mr. Lawaron Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, revealed that the committee responsible for screening the use of the 400,000 billion baht loan will meet this week to consider extending the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" project, which is set to expire on September 30, 2569.
"We believe that if the Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 project is to continue, there shouldn't be any gaps after September 30th, when the project expires. It should be able to continue immediately. Therefore, within the next one to two days, or within this week, there should be a meeting to present the details to the Cabinet."
Currently, out of the 400,000 billion baht loan decree (Part 1), which includes 200,000 billion baht allocated for public relief from the energy crisis, there is still 45,000 billion baht available for use.
Regarding the remaining 45 billion baht, if used in the Thai Help Thai Plus project under the original terms, it would only be sufficient for one month of spending. However, we will need to wait for further details from the Ministry of Finance to see if there will be any adjustments to the project details or if the project will be extended until the end of 2026.
However, the law states that 200,000 billion baht from the energy transition budget can be reallocated to partially cover the compensation costs.
Mr. Laworn revealed that the Thai Help Thai Plus project is still necessary to provide relief to the public due to prolonged external factors such as the fighting and oil prices rising above $100.
As of September 13, 2569, total spending reached 1.55 billion baht from 25.80 million users. This was divided into 6.61 billion baht paid by the public and 8.95 billion baht contributed by the government. 1.1 million merchants had already joined the program.
